LN prism for intense THz wave generation by tilted pulse front technique
Optical rectification of femtosecond laser pulses with tilted pulse fronts in lithium niobate (LiNbO3) is used for generating intense near-single-cycle terahertz pulses using femtosecond laser pulses. LN crystal prism has an angle equal to the pulse-front tilt of 63°.
High intensity THz radiation is used to study terahertz spectroscopy of condensed matter, with a lot of research done in terahertz spectroscopy in spintronic materials.
